GMC Service based in San Giorgio Piacentino (Piacenza) in northern Italy, has with its constant steady growth over the years become part the Region’s grand technological development tradition.
The company was established 26 years ago by a group of engineers specialised in the woodworking machinery industry. Their first plant was a 1000 m² factory in Podenzano, in the outskirts of Piacenza. An ambitious & determined approach, led them to successfully design & develop their own projects & enhance them with new innovative solutions for the main sectors in the wood industry: doors & windows, semi-machined wood or plastic products, wood or laminate engineered parquet.
The company’s Head-Office was opened in 1996 in San Giorgio Piacentino, a 3000 m² plant with a workforce of 30 employees.In the year 2000, GMC changed management; Mr Alessandro Gambazza, one of the firm’s founders & partners, was appointed Managing Director of the company.
A major investment programme was launched the following year which focused not only on the retrofitting, after-sales & spare parts service but also on several new high automation production areas. As a result, Head-Office expanded & a new 2000 m² factory was built next to the existing plant, to implement robotised production.
Having lucratively fulfilled their expectations in the productive sector, GMC subsequently concentrated on reforming & improving their image, hence they acquired a new building with a chain of offices & another spacious plant over 3000 m² in size, destined to become the company’s new Head-Office.GMC currently has 3 industrial units, a total of 8000 m² for assembly space & production, offices that occupy 1000 m² & a labour force of 70 employees.
